In a surprising turn of events, the scenario writer behind the popular game “Needy Streamer Overload,” nyalra, has announced his departure from the promotional and managerial roles associated with the upcoming television anime adaptation. The news was shared via a statement on X/Twitter, marking a significant shift in the project’s dynamics.
nyalra revealed that WSS Playground, the company behind the game, has decided to remove him from any public-facing roles related to the anime. This decision was communicated in October, with the stipulation that production would halt unless nyalra stepped back. Consequently, he will not be participating in events or interviews related to the anime. Despite this setback, nyalra expressed gratitude towards the staff, acknowledging their support and dedication in bringing his vision to life.
The writer also disclosed that he has yet to receive full compensation for his work on the project. His legal representative is currently reviewing and negotiating the matter to ensure his creative rights and integrity are protected. Looking ahead, nyalra announced that he and former production members are working on a new venture, which will be revealed later this year.
The upcoming anime, set to premiere in April 2026, will feature an advance screening of its theatrical version at Theatre Shinjuku in Tokyo and Theatre Umeda in Osaka. The anime is directed by Masaoki Nakajima at Yostar Pictures, with nyalra credited for the original idea, scenario, and supervision. The original character design is by Ohisashiburi, while Kenji Saikai, Akari Takei, and Umito Shimizu are the main character designers.

Due to these recent developments, the planned music event for KAngel, a main character in the series, has been canceled. nyalra expressed regret, as he had produced new songs for the anime with his friends and had written 13 scripts for the series. He also revealed that he had been diagnosed with an adjustment disorder and depression during this time.
In September, nyalra had announced the establishment of a new company to hold the rights to his future projects. These include a previously announced 13-episode television anime, a new short visual novel game, and a larger indie game. He had already secured funding, created a game proposal, and assembled a production team for his next indie game.
