Fans of the popular manga “Hidarikiki no Eren” have something to look forward to. The highly anticipated anime adaptation is slated to premiere in April 2026, and details about the cast and production studios have been revealed.
The announcement came from Animate Times, which reported that the anime will feature a stellar cast and top-tier production studios. Shoya Chiba and Yumi Uchiyama will voice the lead characters, Koichi Asakura and Eren Yamagishi, respectively. The anime will be jointly produced by Signal.MD and Production I.G, ensuring a high-quality production that fans can eagerly anticipate.
“Hidarikiki no Eren,” also known as “Eren the Southpaw,” follows the story of Koichi Asakura, a designer at an advertisement agency, and Eren Yamagishi, a remarkably talented artist. The manga, created by Kappi and illustrated by nifuni, has garnered a significant following since its debut on the cakes web manga service in March 2016. A remake with nifuni’s art was launched on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ service in October 2017 and concluded in October 2022, with an additional chapter released in December of that year. The manga’s final volumes, the 23rd and 24th, were published in December 2022.
The manga’s popularity has already led to a live-action series, which premiered in October 2019, further cementing its place in the hearts of fans. With the upcoming anime adaptation, the story of Koichi and Eren is set to reach an even wider audience.
