Unveiling We Are Aliens: Kohei Kadowakis New Anime Film by Nothing New

Exciting New Anime Film Unveiled: “We Are Aliens”

The anime community is buzzing with anticipation as a new full-length feature film, “We Are Aliens,” has been announced. The project, set to hit theaters in 2026, promises to be a captivating journey into the lives of two former childhood friends.

Animator Kลhei Kadowaki, known for his creative prowess, and the innovative film label NOTHING NEW have joined forces to bring this heartfelt story to life. The film’s teaser video, now streaming, offers a glimpse into the emotional depth and artistic vision that viewers can expect.

“We Are Aliens” follows the story of Tsubasa and Gyotaro, two boys who formed a deep bond during their elementary school years. However, jealousy and misunderstandings eventually drove them apart. As years pass and their lives take different paths, the memories of their past resurface, forcing them to confront the events that led to their separation.

Kadowaki, who previously created the ending sequence for the second season of “BEASTARS,” is taking on multiple roles for this film. He serves as the planner, scriptwriter, director, storyboard artist, and editor, ensuring that every aspect of the film reflects his unique vision. Additionally, Kadowaki has a history of creating music videos for the popular group YOASOBI.

The production of “We Are Aliens” is a collaborative effort, with French studio Miyu Productions, known for works like “Ghost Cat Anzu” and “A New Dawn,” providing production cooperation. Miyu Productions joined the project in June, bringing their expertise to enhance the film’s quality.

To support the production and advertising costs, the staff has launched a crowdfunding campaign on the Motion Gallery website. The goal is to raise 8 million yen (approximately US$51,700) to “improve the quality of the work” and ensure wider distribution.

NOTHING NEW, the film company behind this project, was established in 2022 with a mission “to create a world where talent is not crushed.” Their dedication to nurturing creativity and innovation is evident in their approach to “We Are Aliens.”

With such a talented team and a compelling narrative, “We Are Aliens” is poised to be a standout film in the anime world. Stay tuned for more updates as the project progresses towards its 2026 release.
