The story of Hoppe-chan ~Sun Kingdom and the Black-Cheek Team’s Mystery~ unfolds in a world made of “cuteness” known as the Sun Kingdom. The protagonist, Ganso Hoppe-chan, who has lost her memory, appears in this kingdom. Meanwhile, in the real world, an office worker named Hoho struggles with self-esteem issues, teetering on the brink of losing her way in life. The paths of Ganso Hoppe-chan and Hoho intersect, leading to an intriguing narrative.
Back in the Sun Kingdom, toxic Hoppe-chan creatures are creating an “uncute place,” prompting Ganso Hoppe-chan to join the “Guardians” to protect the kingdom.
The anime will be broadcast on multiple channels, including YBS, Chiba TV, TV Kanagawa, Teletama, BS NTV, Hokkaido Cultural Broadcasting, and Nishinippon Broadcasting.
The series is directed by Nabeshige at Toon Harbor Works. Sun Jewelry is credited with the original work, and the Friends of the Sun Kingdom are credited with the story concept. Character designs are handled by Gurin and Issa Kawaguchi. Yoko Yonaiyama, known for her work on mono, Skip and Loafer second season, and Ya Boy Kongming!, is in charge of the series scripts, collaborating with Takahiro Nagano and Saji Komori.
Sun Jewelry, the company behind Hoppe-chan, has a rich history dating back to 2010. Despite facing financial challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the company is celebrating its 15th anniversary with the release of this anime.
