The story revolves around Rinko, a 24-year-old office worker who is secretly an otaku. Despite her busy schedule, she finds solace in reading her favorite manga, Usaneko-bu, and watching anime. However, her peaceful moments are often disrupted by her right-side neighbor, who bangs on the wall whenever she watches anime. Seeking help, Rinko turns to her left-side neighbor, Akito Satsuki, to mediate. But things take an unexpected turn when the right-side neighbor, Haruma Usada, kicks down the wall, revealing that he is the creator of Rinko’s beloved manga. This leads to an unusual form of “room sharing” among the three neighbors.
Itsuki Imazaki, known for his work on Ai Mai Mi, Adventurers Who Don’t Believe in Humanity Will Save the World, and Hensuki, will direct the anime at Tatsunoko Production. He will also handle the series scripts, collaborating with Makoto Takada. Shunsuke Kikuchi, who has worked on Hensuki, Migi & Dali, and Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury, will design the characters and serve as the chief animation director.
Watomura’s ongoing full-color manga, which launched on the Comic Cmoa manga website in 2020, has already garnered over 12 million downloads. Kadokawa will release the first volume in full-color print on December 1, followed by the second volume on December 27. These print editions will include exclusive bonus stories.
