The anime is an adaptation of Ryohgo Narita’s spinoff story, Fate/strange Fake. Originally slated to premiere in 2025, the series will now air in January 2026. Crunchyroll will stream the series in multiple regions, including North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS. The English-subbed version of the anime’s first episode debuted at the “Fate 20th Anniversary Showcase” event in November 2024, with the Japanese-dubbed version following in December 2024.
The directors of Fate/strange Fake -Whispers of Dawn- are Shun Enokido and Takahito Sakazume, both known for their work on Fate/Grand Order commercials and various episodes of other Fate series. The anime is produced by A-1 Pictures, with Daisuke Daito handling the scripts. Character design and chief animation direction are overseen by Yukei Yamada, while Hiroyuki Sawano composes the music.
The earlier Fate/strange Fake -Whispers of Dawn- anime special premiered in Japan in July 2023 and is currently available on Crunchyroll with an English dub. Narita first published the Fake/states night story as an April Fool’s joke in April 1, 2008, later developing it into a full-fledged light novel series with illustrations by Shizuki Morii. The ninth light novel volume was published in March 2024, and Morii is also working on a manga adaptation.
