The upcoming anime adaptation of Minoru Toyoda’s manga, Draw This, Then Die!, has officially announced its premiere date. Fans can look forward to the series, titled Kore Kaite Shine, which will debut on NTV and its associated channels in July.
Hiroaki Akagi, known for his work on The Dangers in My Heart and Teasing Master Takagi-san, will be at the helm as the director. The anime is being produced by Shinei Animation, ensuring a high-quality production that fans have come to expect.
The manga is set on the picturesque island of Izuōshima, located about 120 kilometers south of Tokyo. The story revolves around Ai Yasumi, a high school student with a passion for reading manga. As she embarks on her own journey of creating manga, she discovers the intricate blend of joy and pain that comes with the artistic process.
Toyoda, who is also known for his work on Love Roma, launched Draw This, Then Die! in Shogakukan’s Monthly Shonen Sunday magazine in November 2021. The series has since gained a dedicated following and is also available on Sunday Webry. The eighth volume of the manga was released in October 2025, continuing to captivate readers with its unique narrative.
