Fluffy Invaders: The Mofmof Parade Takes Center Stage
In an exciting announcement, the beloved fluffy alien creatures from the IDOLiSH7 universe are set to receive even more attention with the launch of the Mofmof Parade project. This initiative includes a stop-motion anime titled Koma-Dori Mofmof Parade, or KomaMof for short, along with a variety of new merchandise.
The Mofmof characters, known for their fluffy appearance and mysterious origins from a distant planet, occasionally attempt to invade Earth. Their charm and idiosyncratic behavior have captured the hearts of fans worldwide.
The Makuhari Messe venue in Chiba will host a special “Mofmof Park” event from May 22 to May 24. This event will run concurrently with the IDOLiSH7 franchise’s “AiNana Expo 2026 ‘Decennium’,” but it will be separately ticketed, allowing fans to immerse themselves in the whimsical world of the Mofmof creatures.
The first television anime based on the IDOLiSH7 smartphone game premiered in Japan in January 2018 and consisted of 17 episodes. The spinoff series, IDOLiSH7 Vibrato, launched in February 2018 and featured net anime shorts. The second season of the main anime premiered in April 2020, with the first episode debuting in January 2020. However, the season was delayed starting with the fifth episode due to COVID-19 and resumed in October 2020.
The third season, IDOLiSH7 Third Beat!, aired in two split cours. The first half premiered in July 2021, and the second half began in October 2022, totaling 30 episodes. The anime’s 26th episode aired in December 2022, with episodes 27-30 airing in February 2023.
The theatrical anime concert, IDOLiSH7 the Movie LIVE 4bit BEYOND THE PERiOD, opened in Japan in May 2023 and earned 220 million yen in its opening weekend. By its 22nd day, the film had grossed over 700 million yen and sold 440,000 tickets, coinciding with the franchise’s eighth anniversary.
The first part of IDOLiSH7 First BEAT!, a theatrical film compilation of the first season, opened in Japan on October 3, with the second part following on December 5. This compilation will also be available for streaming.
The Mofmof Parade project promises to bring even more joy and excitement to fans of the IDOLiSH7 franchise, with the stop-motion anime and new merchandise set to captivate audiences.
