Dahlia in Bloom Anime to Debut at Anime Expo

Frontier Works announced today the world premiere of the Dahlia in Bloom: Crafting a Fresh Start With Magical Tools anime at this year’s Anime Expo. The first episode will screen on Friday at 8:00 p.m. PDT alongside other exciting premieres such as Haigakura.

Kinnikuman Voice Actor Mamoru Miyano Confirmed to Attend

Pony Canyon will also feature Mamoru Miyano, the voice of Kinnikuman in the Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arc anime, during their premiere of episodes 0 and 1 on Saturday at 3:45 p.m. PDT at Anime Expo. A special session with director Akira Sato and producer Rui Kuroki will follow the screening, including an autograph signing.

Television Debut of Dahlia in Bloom Anime Series

The television adaptation of Hisaya Amagishi and Kei‘s Dahlia in Bloom: Crafting a Fresh Start With Magical Tools light novel series premieres on Saturday on AT-X and MBS, followed by Tokyo MX and BS11 on Sunday.

Overview of Dahlia in Bloom Storyline

J-Novel Club, the English publisher of the novel series, provides this synopsis:

After a tragic end in Japan, Dahlia finds herself reborn into a world of magic. Under the tutelage of a master craftsman of magical tools, she discovers a passion for craftsmanship and becomes betrothed to her father’s apprentice. However, fate intervenes as her father passes away before the wedding, and her fiancé reveals his heart belongs elsewhere.

Determined to forge her own path, Dahlia embraces the challenges ahead—from chance encounters with knights to establishing her own enterprise. This isn’t the serene life she envisioned, but Dahlia refuses to wilt. She’s ready to bloom on her terms.

Production Team Details

Yōsuke Kubo directs the anime at Typhoon Graphics × Imagica, with series scripts overseen by Yuichiro Higashide (Fate/Apocrypha, Date A Live Fragment: Date A Bullet). Character designs by Satomi Kurita (Peach Boy Riverside, Princess Connect! Re:Dive) and music composed by Kou Otani (Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, Daphne in the Brilliant Blue) round out the creative team, with Yukio Nagasaki as sound director.

The Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arc anime premieres Sunday on CBC, TBS, and other networks with a recap episode 0 featuring new animation. Streaming begins July 8 on Netflix. Named after a manga revival, the arc continues Kinnikuman’s legacy in the universe of Chojin.
