J-Novel Club translated the original saga, describing this apocalypse:
In 2800, the Black-Winged Tyrant awakens—not in digital code, but flesh and bone.
A modern soul finds himself trapped in the body of Lufas Maphaahl, his former game avatar now horrifyingly real. The world remembers her reign of terror, but the rules have changed. This isn’t Exgate Online anymore. With legendary monsters roaming free and old scars still bleeding, Lufas marches toward an unknown destiny…
The original web novel by Firehead and YahaKo burned across Shōsetsuka ni Narō from 2015-2017 before becoming nine engraved tomes under Earth Star Entertainment. Artist Tsubasa Hazuki later drew blood with a manga spearheading 1.4 million copies into the wild.
