Anime Potion Light Series Reveals Opening Theme

A new teaser video has been released by Animation ID, showcasing the opening theme song for the upcoming “light anime” adaptation of Akira Iwafune’s popular novel series, “Potions Will Save Me.” The opening theme is a captivating track titled “Koi no Magic Potion” (Love’s Magic Potion), performed by the rock band TRiDENT. Additionally, TRiDENT will also be contributing the ending theme song, “MIRACRAID,” adding to the excitement surrounding the series.

The teaser video provides a sneak peek into the enchanting world of “Potions Will Save Me,” where the protagonist, Kaede, finds herself reincarnated into a fantastical realm filled with beastkin, elves, and dragons. Kaede’s journey begins with a mysterious book that allows her to craft potions, which she plans to use to navigate her new world and find a way back to Japan.

The series is set to debut on October 2 on Tokyo MX at 25:00 JST (effectively, October 6 at 1:00 a.m. JST). Directed by Mikiko Furukawa, known for her work on “Moriarty’s Perfect Crime,” the anime is being produced at IMAGICA Infos and Imageworks Studio, with Studio KAIBA providing animation assistance. Yuchi Imaizumi is the sound director, bermei.inazawa is composing the music, and Kazuya Takahashi is overseeing production supervision.

The story of “Potions Will Save Me” follows Kaede, a typical high school girl who suddenly finds herself transported to a magical world. After a day of wandering, she discovers a mysterious book that enables her to create potions by gathering materials and chanting a simple spell. With this newfound ability, Kaede sets out to explore her new surroundings and find a way back home.

Akira Iwafune serialized the story on the Shosetsuka ni Narou website from April 2014 to September 2024. The first print novel volume, illustrated by Yoshi Tobe, was published by Shufunotomo in April 2015, with the 10th volume released in September 2024. Additionally, Tobe launched a manga adaptation on Shufunotomo’s Hero Comics website in September 2023, which currently has 15 chapters.

The excitement around “Potions Will Save Me” is building, with fans eagerly anticipating the premiere. The series promises to deliver a unique blend of fantasy and adventure, with a touch of humor and heartwarming moments.
