Chainsaw Man Film Premiere Night Requests Surge in Japan

The Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc Movie Previews Are Set to Thrill Fans Worldwide

The highly anticipated “Chainsaw Man” cinematic experience is rapidly drawing near. On Thursday, the official website for the “Chainsaw Man” series unveiled thrilling details for fans to mark their calendars. “Chainsaw Man — The Movie: Reze Arc,” the film adaptation of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s vibrant manga series, will be screened in special midnight showings in 12 theaters across key Japanese cities, including Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Hokkaido on September 19. In addition to the traditional theater experience, the movie will also feature MX4D, 4DX, and Dolby Cinema screenings, providing viewers with an immersive adventure.

Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) has secured the worldwide theatrical rights to the film. Fans in the U.S. can expect to see it in theaters on October 24, slightly earlier than the initially planned October 29 release. Meanwhile, UK audiences will get their chance on October 29, with screenings in over 80 countries kicking off on September 24.

For those who are eagerly awaiting the big screen debut, the movie’s synopsis promises another exhilarating chapter in Denji’s saga. After becoming the “Chainsaw Man,” Denji joins the devil hunters in Special Division 4. Following a memorable date with Makima, his dream girl, Denji finds himself in a café. There, he encounters Reze, a young woman with her own set of mysteries.

The film features a talented cast and production team, with Reina Ueda bringing Reze’s dynamic character to life. The soundtrack is another highlight, featuring performances by Kenshi Yonezu and Hikaru Utada. Yonezu’s theme song, “IRIS OUT,” complements the dramatic narrative, while his and Utada’s collaborative effort on “JANE DOE” provides a poignant ending. Additionally, Maximum The Hormone’s “Hawatari Nioku Centi” will make its appearance as an insert song, with a longer version of the track specifically tailored for this movie.

The creators behind the film are excited to give fans an enhanced cinematic experience, with various interactive formats enhancing the viewing quality. The film review process indicates enhanced viewing experiences for each theater type, further building anticipation among fans.

Those unfamiliar with the series can look forward to an intense journey filled with action and suspense. Denji, a young man, is tethered to a devil named Pochita. Living through hardship, he scours the streets to settle his father’s debt by hunting down devil corpses. Betrayal and tragedy strike when he is ruthlessly killed. As his life fades, a pact with Pochita revives him as “Chainsaw Man,” granting him a devil’s heart brimming with unyielding power.

Chainsaw Man, a riveting series by Tatsuki Fujimoto, made its debut in December 2018 in Weekly Shonen Jump, concluding the “Kōan” (Public Safety) arc by December 2020. The manga’s second part, “Gakkō-hen” (School Arc), began serialization on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ service in July 2022 and won the Best Manga award at The Harvey Awards three years in a row.

In addition to its literary and animated successes, the series inspired a live-stage production, which ran in Tokyo and Kyoto from September to October 2023, leaving audiences eager for more. Despite the anticipation, fans must hold tight until September 19 for the grand Tokyo premiere!
