Clevatess Anime Season 2 Announced

In an exciting development for fans of fantasy anime, Kadokawa has announced that Yuji Iwahara’s popular manga, Clevatess – The King of Magical Beasts, the Baby, and the Corpse Hero, is getting a second season. The new series, titled Clevatess II – The King of Magical Beasts and the Legend of the False Hero, will continue the thrilling adventures of the original cast.

Crunchyroll will be streaming the new season as it airs, ensuring that fans worldwide can enjoy the latest episodes without delay. To celebrate the announcement, the anime’s character designer, Souichirou Sako, has created a special illustration that captures the essence of the upcoming season.

The first season of Clevatess concluded with its 12th episode on Wednesday, leaving viewers eager for more. The anime made its debut on the AT-X channel on July 2 at 8:30 p.m. JST (7:30 a.m. EDT) and was subsequently broadcast on multiple other channels, including Tokyo MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, BS NTV, TV Fukushima, Nagano Broadcasting Systems, TV Yamanashi, Aichi TV, Iwate Broadcasting, Miyagi TV, Hokuriku Broadcasting, TV Shizuoka, TV Shin Hiroshima, Akita Asahi Broadcasting, Hokkaido TV, Nihonkai Telecasting, Nagasaki International Television Broadcasting, Nagoya TV, and Niigata Broadcasting.

The story of Clevatess revolves around Alicia, a young girl who dreams of becoming a hero. She is chosen by the king to join a quest with 12 other heroes, each wielding legendary swords. Their mission is to subjugate Clevatess, the lord of magical beasts. However, their actions may inadvertently lead to the realm’s destruction, making a baby entrusted to Clevatess the world’s last hope.

Yuji Iwahara, known for his work on Darker Than Black and King of Thorn, launched the manga on the LINE Manga app in August 2020. The first compiled book volume was published physically on the same day, with the 10th volume released digitally on July 2. Kadokawa began serializing the manga on its Comic Alive+ website in April 2024 and is publishing a new edition of the compiled book volumes, with the 10th volume set to ship on September 26.
