New Cast Members Join the Exciting “Plus-Sized Misadventures in Love” Anime

The official X/Twitter account for the television anime adaptation of the popular manga “Plus-Sized Misadventures in Love,” also known as “Debu to Love to Ayamachi to!,” announced an exciting addition to its cast. Akeno Watanabe and Yasuhiro Kikuchi have been confirmed to voice the parents of the protagonist, Yumeko.

The anime made its debut on Monday at 11:00 p.m. JST on Tokyo MX and at 11:30 p.m. JST on Sun TV. The series features Aya Endō as Yumeko Kōda and Yūma Uchida as Keisuke Yūki. Uchida also performs the ending theme song “Watashi de Yokatta!!!” (I’m Glad It’s Me!!!). The opening theme song “Happy Yummy Lucky Yummy” is performed by GANG PARADE.

The talented team behind the anime includes Kazuomi Koga, who is directing the series at Marvy Jack. Aya Watatane is responsible for the screenplay and series composition, while Atsuko Takahashi is handling the character designs. Takahashi, along with Kyoko Kametani and Izumi Yamanaka, serves as the chief animation directors. The music for the series is composed by Satoshi Hōno and Karin Nakano.

The manga, published by NTT Solmare through its MangaPlaza service, tells the story of Yumeko, a young woman who undergoes a dramatic transformation after a near-death experience. Her newfound confidence and positivity begin to influence those around her, leading to a series of comedic and heartwarming events. The manga, launched in 2019, has been adapted into a live-action series and continues to captivate readers with its unique blend of romance, humor, and personal growth.
