The official website for the upcoming television anime adaptation of Kôcha Agasawa’s manga “Koori no Jyôheki” has unveiled an exciting visual and teaser promotional video. This announcement, made on Monday, reveals key details about the anime’s main cast, staff, and premiere date.
The anime is set to debut in April 2026 on TBS and other channels. Fans can look forward to a captivating story that follows the lives of four complex individuals: Koyuki Hikawa, Minato Amemiya, Miki Azumi, and Yôta Hino.

Mankyû, known for his work on “Pui Pui Molcar the Movie: MOLMAX,” “Sumikkogurashi – Good to be in the corner,” and “The IDOLM@STER Shiny Colors,” is directing the anime at Studio KAI. Yasuhiro Nakanishi, who has worked on “Kaguya-sama: Love is War,” “Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun,” and “Mecha-Ude: Mechanical Arms,” is in charge of the series scripts. Miki Ogino, who designed characters for “Osana Najimi no Carbou,” is handling the character designs. The music will be composed by Kanade Sakuma and Natsumi Tabuchi.
The original manga was serialized as a webtoon on the LINE Manga app from January 2020 to April 2022. Shueisha published the manga’s 14th and final compiled volume on February 4.
The story revolves around Koyuki Hikawa, a high school student who struggles to connect with others and builds a wall between herself and the world. Despite her aloof demeanor, Minato Amemiya keeps getting closer to her, leading to a complex and intriguing narrative. The manga also features Miki Azumi, a popular girl, and Yôta Hino, a laid-back boy, adding depth to the story.
The manga has garnered significant attention, ranking at #15 for male readers in the 2024 edition of Takarajimasha’s “Kono Manga ga Sugoi!” guidebook. It was also nominated for the 69th Shogakukan Manga Awards in 2023 and placed second in the “Vertical Scroll Comic” section of the second Rakuten Kobo E-book Awards. Additionally, it ranked #2 on AnimeJapan’s sixth “Most Wanted Anime Adaptation” poll in 2023.
Agasawa’s other manga, “You and I Are Polar Opposites,” is also inspiring a television anime adaptation, set to premiere in January 2026 from studio Lapin Track. The series will be streamed by Crunchyroll.
