The upcoming television anime adaptation of Kamio Fukuchi’s popular manga, Yowayowa Sensei, has unveiled its teaser visual, premiere date, and main cast. Fans can mark their calendars for April 2026, as the anime is set to debut during that month.
The teaser visual introduces the main characters and sets the stage for the romantic comedy that awaits viewers. The anime will feature Marika Kono as Hiyori Hiwamura and Kakeru Hatano as Akihito Abikura, the two leads whose dynamic is central to the story.
The website also announced the key staff members behind the anime. Hiroshi Ishiodori, known for his work on Peach Girl and Rin-NE 3, will direct the series at Brains Base. Yoshifumi Fukushima, who has worked on Gunparade Orchestra, will oversee the series scripts. Character designs will be handled by Naoki Aisaka, who previously worked on Hero Tales. The music for the anime will be composed by Akifumi Tada and Rina Tayama, both of whom have impressive credits, including Skip Beat! and Vampire Dormitory, respectively.
Yowayowa Sensei follows the story of Hiyori Hiwamura, a newly graduated college student who begins her career as a high school teacher. Despite her weak voice, stamina, and overall delicate demeanor, Hiwamura is often misunderstood by her students, who fear her as the “Ms. Scary” who will curse them if provoked. However, one student, Akihito Abikura, sees through her meek exterior and recognizes her true nature, leading to a heartwarming and humorous narrative.
The manga, originally launched in Weekly Shonen Magazine in November 2022, has gained a significant following. Kodansha will release the 15th compiled volume of the manga on November 17.
