Enthusiasts of MF Ghost have been treated to new, exciting revelations about the upcoming third season. The animation’s official website recently unveiled the second teaser visual and announced the premiere date for January 2026. This sneak peek was first showcased during the “Initial D 30th Anniversary 2days” event at Fuji Speedway in Shizuoka on Saturday.

The MF Ghost series is set in Japan’s 2020s, a time dominated by self-driving cars. The narrative revolves around Kanata Livington, a top-performing racing school graduate from England who returns to his homeland. The story also explores MFG—a renowned public road racing circuit that has attracted global attention.
The first season hit the screens in October 2023 on Tokyo MX, BS11, RKB Mainichi Broadcasting, Animax, TV Aichi, Shizuoka Broadcasting System, TV Setouchi, Tochigi TV, and YTV. The anime was also available on Crunchyroll. The excitement didn’t stop there. The second season premiered in October 2024 on Tokyo MX, BS11, RKB Mainichi Broadcasting, YTV, TV Aichi, and Animax. Additionally, it was streamed on Lemino, Prime Video, and Crunchyroll, which also offered an English dub.
The journey began in September 2017 when Shuuichi Shigeno launched the MF Ghost manga in Kodansha’s Young Magazine. The manga’s English version is being released by Kodansha USA Publishing. The manga grappled with hiatuses starting in November 2022 due to Shigeno’s health. The storyline resumed multiple times and entered its final battle phase after a few lapses.
Finally, after reaching its conclusion on February 17, 2025, the volume-23 webtoon collectively shipped in Japan on June 6.
