Harumi to Voice Yukine Indล in Upcoming Anime Series
The upcoming anime adaptation of the manga “Scum of the Brave” has revealed a new cast member. Momo Harumi will voice Yukine Indล, a second-year student known for her exceptional fighting skills despite her lackluster academic performance and frequent naps or meals during class.
The anime series, based on the manga by Rocket Shokai and Nakashima723, will feature Ryลta Suzuki as the lead character Shinigami Yashiro and Akari Kitล as Aki Jogamine. All three cast members will make an appearance at an advance screening of the anime on December 14 at the Marunouchi Piccadilly theater in Tokyo.
The production team includes Shinji Ushiro as the director at OLM, Yoichi Katล overseeing the series scripts, Rika Murakami handling character design, and Kenichiro Suehiro composing the music. The anime is set to debut in January 2026 and will air on NTV and its affiliates.
Rocket Shokai originally launched the story on the Kakuyomu website in February 2016. The series is being republished in novel format with revisions, featuring illustrations by toi8. The manga began its run in 2018 on LEED Publishing’s Comic Border service, with the seventh volume released on March 21. Manga Planet is publishing the manga in English digitally, describing the story as follows:
In an alternate 21st century, wealthy mafia members undergo ether-enhancement surgery to become “Demon Kings,” and bounty hunters known as “Braves” are tasked with taking them down. Yashiro seeks simple pleasures like pizza, beer, and card games. When three young Braves offer him a substantial sum to be their private tutor, he agrees for the money but wonders if it’s worth the trouble he’s getting into.
Rocket Shokai is also the writer of the light novel series “Sentenced to Be a Hero: The Prison Records of Penal Hero Unit 9004,” which is inspiring a television anime series set to debut in January 2026 after a delay.
