Exciting New Reveals for “The Dangers in My Heart: The Movie”
Fans of “The Dangers in My Heart” have reason to celebrate as TV Asahi has unveiled fresh character visuals and introduced a new cast member for the highly anticipated compilation film, “The Dangers in My Heart: The Movie.” This cinematic adaptation of Norio Sakurai’s beloved manga, “Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu,” promises to deliver an enriched viewing experience with additional footage and a deeper dive into the characters’ lives.

Momoka Terasawa will voice Akira Momoyama, the drummer of PrimaryCOLOR. PrimaryCOLOR is the band featuring Kyotaro’s sister, Kana Ichikawa, portrayed by returning cast member Yukari Tamura. The identities of the voice actors for Aoton and Hinako remain undisclosed. The film will feature the band’s first-ever concert footage, adding an exciting new dimension to the story.

The film is set to hit theaters in Japan on February 13, 2026. TV Asahi and HIDIVE provided a sneak peek at Anime Expo in July 2025, generating buzz and anticipation among fans.
The musical duo yorushika will return to the franchise to perform the film’s theme song, “Madder,” adding to the excitement surrounding the movie’s release.
“The Dangers in My Heart: The Movie” will also receive a theatrical release in various international markets, including the United States, Germany, Italy, France, Mexico, Chile, Peru, and additional Central American territories. Details about ticket sales, release dates, and further territories will be announced soon.
The film will include new footage and continue the story of Kyotaro and Anna beyond the series finale, offering fans a deeper look into their lives.
Hiroaki Akagi will serve as the chief director, with Da Li Chen directing the anime. The returning staff includes screenwriter Jukki Hanada, character designer Masato Katsumata, and composer Kensuke Ushio.
The first season of the anime premiered on TV Asahi and its affiliates in the “NUMAnimation” programming block in April 2023. HIDIVE streamed the series as it aired in Japan, while Netflix provided streaming services in many countries outside the U.S. and Canada.
The second season premiered in Japan in January 2024, with HIDIVE streaming the season as it aired and later releasing an English dub.
The manga’s spinoff, “Twi-Yaba,” also received an anime adaptation that premiered in December 2023.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga, which tells the story of Ichikawa Kyotaro, a boy who believes he is the lead in a psychological thriller. The manga describes Kyotaro’s secret dreams and his interactions with Anna Yamada, the class idol, revealing that both characters have more depth than initially perceived.
Sakurai launched the manga in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shonen Champion magazine in March 2018. The manga moved to the Champion Cross manga website in April 2018 and later to the Manga Cross website after a merger. Akita Shoten published the manga’s 13th compiled book volume on January 8, 2026. Seven Seas Entertainment published the manga’s 11th volume in August 2025.
The manga’s light novel adaptation, written by Kota Nozomi and illustrated by Sakurai and sune, was released in Japan in September 2024.
Haika Nanasaka launched a manga spinoff titled “Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu Love Comedy ga Hajimaranai” on the Champion Cross manga website on July 22. This spinoff focuses on Kyotaro Ichikawa’s older sister, Kana.
