“Dusk Beyond the End of the World” tells the story of Akira, a high school student who awakens from cold sleep 200 years into the future, finding a world ravaged by war. In this new era, a unified organization called OWEL governs the people, and a system known as “Elsie” (or “LC”) has replaced traditional marriage. Upon waking, Akira encounters an android named Yugure, who bears a striking resemblance to his former girlfriend, Towasa. Yugure immediately proposes to Akira, leading him on a journey to discover if Towasa still exists in this changed world.
The series is a product of “Project FT” and is directed by Naokatsu Tsuda, known for his work on “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” and “planetarian.” The character designs are created by manga artist Midori Tayama, with Yoshiko Saito adapting them for animation. The music is composed by Masahiro Tokuda, and the opening theme song “Platform” is performed by Uru, while the ending theme song “Two Of Us” is performed by Hana Hope.
