Exciting New Anime Series “Osananajimi to wa LoveCom ni Naranai” Set to Premiere in January
Fans of romantic comedies are in for a treat as the upcoming anime series “Osananajimi to wa LoveCom ni Naranai” (I’ll Never Have a Romantic Comedy with My Childhood Friend) is gearing up for its January premiere. The anime, based on the popular manga by Shinya Misu, will air on TV Tokyo, AT-X, and BS NTV, bringing a fresh take on the classic childhood friend trope.
The series has unveiled a new teaser visual featuring the character Haru Hinata, who is portrayed as a tanned, short-haired, and athletic type among the story’s four heroines. Alongside the visual, it was announced that Yūki Yamamoto will voice Haru Hinata, adding another talented voice actor to the cast.
The manga, which centers around Eiyū, a high school boy whose two childhood friends, Shio and Akari, also attend the same school, delves into the complexities of unrequited love and hidden secrets. Eiyū’s struggle with his growing feelings for his friends, despite knowing they have no interest in him, forms the core of the narrative. However, Shio and Akari harbor their own mysteries, adding layers of intrigue to the story.
The previously announced cast members include:
CyberAgent is producing the anime, while Tezuka Productions is handling the animation. The manga, launched by Shinya Misu in Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket website in March 2022, has garnered a significant following. Kodansha will publish the manga’s 18th compiled book volume on November 7, further expanding the series’ reach.
