The new episodes will air on the following dates: November 20, December 20, January 20, February 20, and March 20. The first episode will adapt the “Akaniku Melon” (Orange Cantaloupe) story from the seventh volume of the manga.

The initial set of five episodes from the anime debuted with a similar monthly release schedule from June to October 2024. This new series is part of the celebrations for the 30th anniversary of Eiko Kera’s original manga. It will bring to life stories from the original manga that were not adapted in previous anime series.

The ATASHIn’CHI franchise has a rich history, including a television anime series that aired from 2002 to 2009. The franchise also includes a film released in 2003 and a 40-minute 3D film in 2010. Additionally, a new television series titled Shin ATASHIn’CHI aired from October 2015 to April 2016. The YouTube channel for the anime has been streaming the series and Shin ATASHIn’CHI with English subtitles since May 2020.

Shinei Animation and AlphaBoat describe the anime’s story as follows:

ATASHIn’CHI … describes the everyday life of the Tachibana family: Mother, who tries her best in everything she does despite her clumsiness; Father, who says little and insists on doing everything his way; Mikan, a high school romantic; and Yuzuhiko, who might appear to be emotionless at first glance but is quite naive.

In December 2019, Kera launched a new serialization for the manga titled ATASHIn’CHI SUPER, seven years after the original series ended. The manga had been running in the Sunday edition of the Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper since 1994, for a total of 17 years and 10 months.
