New Chained Soldier 2 Anime Cast Unveiled, Premieres January 8

The highly anticipated second season of the anime adaptation of the manga “Chained Soldier,” also known as “Mato Seihei no Slave,” has officially been announced. Fans can mark their calendars for January 8, as this is when the new season will debut on Tokyo MX, BS Asahi, MBS, and AT-X. The announcement was made via the official X/Twitter account for the series, which also teased more exciting revelations to come.

The upcoming season will introduce several new cast members, adding depth and intrigue to the story. The newly announced voice actors include:

Kana Ichinose as Konomi Tatara

Fairouz Ai as Mira Kamiunten

Manaka Iwami as Bell Tsukiyono

Fūka Izumi as Yakumo Ezo

Maaya Uchida as Tenka Izumo

Yukana as Fubuki Azuma

Kana Hanazawa will play Ren Yamashiro.

Akari Kitō will reprise her role as Kyōka Uzen.

The second season will feature a new staff and studio. Masafumi Tamura, known for his work on “The World’s Finest Assassin,” “Ange Vierge,” and “Wise Man’s Grandchild,” will direct the anime. The production will be handled by Passione and Hayabusa Film. Keiya Nakano, who has worked on “AOKANA: Four Rhythm Across the Blue,” “Loner Life in Another World,” and “Keijo!!!!!!!!,” will be responsible for the character designs.

Kana Hanazawa will also be performing the ending theme song “Cipher Cipher,” arranged by Polkadot Stingray.

The first season of “Chained Soldier” premiered in Japan in January 2024 and was broadcast on AT-X, Tokyo MX, BS Asahi, and MBS. HIDIVE streamed the anime as it aired and also provided an English dub.

The story of “Chained Soldier” unfolds in a world where a demonic gate has released monsters known as Shūki. A special peach tree grants unique powers, but only to women. The narrative begins when a struggling young man named Yūki Wakura encounters Uzen Kyōka, a girl who has gained the power of the peach and is the captain of the 7th Anti-Demon Squad.

The first season was directed by Gorō Kuji at Seven Arcs, with Yasuhiro Nakanishi handling the series composition. The script was written by Ryōta Kanō and Akira Kindaichi, while Hiroyuki Yoshii designed the characters. Kohta Yamamoto composed the music, and Chikako Yokota served as the sound director.

The manga “Chained Soldier” was launched by Takahiro and Yohei Takemura on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ manga website in January 2019.
