Shabake anime 2nd key visual

Portrait of the Funny Casting and Music for Shabake’s Anime Premiering October 3

Watch the delightful new promotional video for the upcoming anime series Shabake, unveiling its enchanting key visual and newly announced cast members. The series, based on Megumi Hatakenaka’s beloved historical fantasy novels, is set to premier on October 3rd this year.

The anime features the captivating ending theme “Myaku-Myaku” sung by renowned vocalist KAFUN&Eacute.

The seasoned director Takahiro Sakawa, known for his work on Hula Fulla Dance and Malevolent Spirits, is heading the directorial efforts at BN Pictures. While Akari Minagawa (The Perfect Prince Loves Me, the Side Character?!) is leading the character designs, Sheikh and Rei Ishizuka (Ayakashi Triangle, The Orbital Children) are handling the music. To top it all, Kujira is in charge of music and is performing the opening theme “Inochi no Parade.” The scripting of the series is supervised by Toko Machado (Lucky Stars, Smile Down the Runway).

The debut of the anime is scheduled for October 3rd on the Fuji TV’s Noitamina block, premiering at 11:30 p.m. JST (10:30 a.m. EDT). Notably, Japanese residents can enjoy the exclusive stream on Prime Video at midnight JST on October 4th. The animation extravaganza will also air on AT-X on October 7th at 8:00 p.m. JST.

With a rich history, the novels in this series have surpassed ten million copies in circulation and inspire various adaptations, including live-action shows, manga, and stage performances. The timeline traces back to July 2021 when a net anime adaptation, starring a different cast and crew, streamed.

Additionally, Hatakenaka’s previous work, We Rent Tsukumogami, saw a successful television anime adaptation in July 2018, further cementing their fame in the anime community.
