The highly anticipated Sound! Euphonium, The Final Movie Part 1 is set to captivate audiences with its emotional and musical depth. The film, part of the beloved Sound! Euphonium series, will feature the theme song “ToCoda” performed by TRUE. This marks the fourth time TRUE has contributed to the series, having previously performed theme songs for the three previous seasons, as well as the movies Sound! Euphonium The Movie – Our Promise: A Brand New Day and Sound! Euphonium: Ensemble Contest Arc.
The film is scheduled to hit theaters on April 24, 2026, in 200 theaters across Japan. This grand finale will conclude the decade-long journey of the Sound! Euphonium series, which has beautifully depicted the lives of high school students dedicated to their concert band.
Kyoto Animation, the studio behind the series, has described the film as the ultimate conclusion to the story that began in 2015. The film will be led by Chief Director Tatsuya Ishihara and Director Taichi Ogawa, who have been integral to the series’ success. The script is penned by Jukki Hanada, with new scenes and performance sequences that were not featured in the TV series.
The film will star the original voice cast and feature meticulous visual refinement from Kyoto Animation. The music will be composed by Akito Matsuda, with cooperation from Senzoku Gakuen College of Music. Character designers include Shoko Ikeda and Kazumi Ikeda, with Kazumi Ikeda also serving as the chief animation director.

Euphonium: Todoketai Melody in September 2017.
The franchise continued to expand with the film Liz and the Blue Bird, which centered on Mizore Yoroizuka and Nozomi Kasaki, opening in April 2018. Sound! Euphonium The Movie – Our Promise: A Brand New Day followed in April 2019, focusing on Kumiko as a second-year student. The theatrical anime Sound! Euphonium: Ensemble Contest Arc opened in August 2023, marking the first new sequel anime in four years for the franchise.
The third season of the anime premiered in April 2024, adapting Kumiko’s third year in high school. This season was streamed internationally by Crunchyroll, reaching audiences in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS.
