Unveiling the Exciting Details of the Upcoming “Hidarikiki no Eren” Anime
Fans of the beloved manga “Eren the Southpaw” are in for a treat as the official website for the upcoming anime adaptation has launched. The site revealed a captivating teaser visual, an enticing promotional video, the main cast, the production team, the television format, and the much-anticipated premiere date of April 2026. This announcement confirms earlier reports that briefly surfaced on Monday.
The anime is set to bring to life the story of Koichi Asakura and Ellen Yamagishi, two high school students with distinct artistic aspirations. Koichi dreams of attending art school to become a designer, while Ellen, a left-handed artist, has had her talents suppressed due to a past incident. Their paths cross when Koichi discovers Ellen’s graffiti on the wall of an art museum, leading to a mutual recognition through their shared love for art. Koichi embarks on his journey to become a designer, while Ellen pursues her passion for painting.
The anime will feature the talented voice actors Shoya Chiba and Yumi Uchiyama as Koichi Asakura and Ellen Yamagishi, respectively. The directorial duties are handled by Toshimasa Suzuki, known for his work on “Fafner: Heaven and Earth,” “Lagrange – The Flower of Rin-ne,” and “RWBY: Ice Queendom.” The series scripts are penned by Taku Kishimoto, who has worked on “BLUE LOCK,” “Haikyu!!,” and “Moriarty the Patriot.” The character designs are crafted by Takayuki Goto, renowned for his work on “Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: Solid State Society” and “Parappa the Rapper.”
Yuka Fukuchi and Akane Tamai, both experienced in episode animation direction for “Shinkalion Change the World” and “Platinum End,” are responsible for the character designs and serve as chief animation directors. The additional staff includes Kappi, who debuted the manga on the cakes web manga service in March 2016, and nifuni, who launched a remake with art on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ service in October 2017. The manga concluded on October 8, 2022, with an extra chapter published in December of the same year. Shueisha also released the manga’s 23rd and 24th compiled book volumes that December, marking the final chapters of the series.
The manga has already inspired a live-action series that premiered in October 2019, further expanding its reach and popularity.
