Kadokawa has released the second main promotional video for the upcoming television anime adaptation of Yatsuki Weakest’s and Kikka Ohashi’s light novel series, The Other World’s Books Depend on the Bean Counter. The video, which premiered on Wednesday, showcases the anime’s opening and ending theme songs.
The opening theme, titled “Magic,” is performed by kobore, while the ending theme, “Back to Back,” is sung by Win Morisaki. The video provides a sneak peek into the anime’s musical direction and sets the tone for the series.
The anime is set to debut on January 6 at 11:00 p.m. JST (9:00 a.m. EST) on AT-X. Following its premiere, it will air on Tokyo MX, BS11, Sun TV, and KBS Kyoto at 24:30 JST (effectively, January 7 at 12:30 a.m. JST).
Fans eager to get an early look at the series can attend an advance screening of the first three episodes in Tokyo on December 11.
Crunchyroll will stream the series as it airs, under the title Isekai Office Worker: The Other World’s Books Depend on the Bean Counter, in various regions including North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, and the Indian Subcontinent. Additionally, Crunchyroll will screen the anime’s premiere at this year’s Anime Frontier event on December 14.
The anime is being directed by Shinji Ishihara at Studio DEEN, with Yoshiko Nakamura handling the series composition. The duo has previously collaborated on several BL anime, including Sasaki and Miyano, Super Lovers, and Tadaima, Okaeri. Akira Yamada serves as the assistant director, while Maki Fujii, who worked with Ishihara and Nakamura on Sasaki and Miyano, is the character designer. Megumi Ohashi is composing the music, with Nippon Columbia producing it.
The light novel series, which began in February 2019, follows Seiichiro, a hardworking individual who finds himself in a fantasy world due to a strange Saint-Summoning Ritual. The story explores his interactions with the Aresh, the Captain of the Knights, and his potential desire for more than just his job. The third volume of the light novel series was released in September 2021.
Yen Press is publishing both the light novel series and the manga adaptation in English. The manga launched on Kadokawa’s ComicWalker (now KadoComi) website in March 2020, with the seventh volume published on October 31. The manga and novels have a combined circulation of 1.4 million copies.
