Unveiling the Anticipated Theme Song from the Upcoming Anime Film Trailers
Fans of anime are in for a treat as Bandai Namco Filmworks has released two captivating trailers for their upcoming musical anime film, The Obsessed. This film is an adaptation of Shinji Ishii’s novel, Toritsukare-otoko, also known as Obsessed Man. The trailers, released on Friday, offer a sneak peek into the film’s enchanting musical numbers and its compelling storyline.
The first trailer introduces viewers to the film’s musical song number, “Fanfare ~Koi ni Ukarete~” (Fanfare ~Giddy in Love~). This in-movie version of the theme song “Fanfare” is performed by the main actors, Masaya Sano and Moka Kamishiraishi, who bring their respective characters to life with their melodious voices.
The second trailer features the film’s theme song, “Fanfare,” performed by Awesome City Club. This song sets the tone for the emotional journey that awaits viewers.

Masaya Sano, a member of the Ae! group, takes on the role of Giuseppe. Moka Kamishiraishi portrays Pechka. Together, they lend their voices to the film’s songs, adding depth to the characters and the narrative.
The cast also includes other talented actors who contribute to the film’s rich soundtrack. atagi, a member of Awesome City Club, makes his debut in film soundtracks with five songs for Toritsukare-otoko. He is also part of the background music, including the theme song “Fanfare.”
Wataru Takahashi, known for directing several Crayon Shin-chan films, is at the helm of this project at Shinei Animation. The script is penned by Naoyuki Miura, who has previously worked on Fujoshi, Ukkari Gay ni Kokuru. Character designs are handled by Masatsugu Arakawa, renowned for his work on Windy Tales and Medabots Spirit. The film is set to be distributed by Bandai Namco Filmworks.
The Obsessed is scheduled to hit Japanese theaters on November 7. Additionally, the 38th Tokyo International Film Festival will feature the film, providing an early glimpse for eager audiences.
Shinji Ishii’s novel, published in 2001, revolves around Giuseppe, a man known in his town as the “Obsessed Man.” His life takes a dramatic turn when he meets Pechka, a balloon seller, and falls in love at first sight. Despite his efforts to get closer to her, Pechka’s inner sadness keeps him at a distance. With the help of his friend Cielo, Giuseppe uses his past obsessions to gradually win Pechka’s heart.
