The anime will bring back familiar faces, with Toshihiro Kikuchi returning as the director. Kikuchi, known for his work on Vinland Saga and Great Pretender, will be joined by Yudai Hanaoka as the assistant director. The series scripts will be overseen by Toko Machida, who has previously worked on Lucky Star, With You and the Rain, and Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider. Hiromi Daimi, who has contributed to Re:CREATORS and Dropkick on My Devil!, will return to design the characters.
The first season of Bungo Stray Dogs Wan! premiered in January 2021 and was streamed by Crunchyroll, which also provided an English dub. The original Bungo Stray Dogs manga, created by Kafka Asagiri and Sango Harukawa, has been ongoing since December 2012 and is published in Kadokawa’s Young Ace magazine. The manga has been adapted into several anime seasons and a film, with Crunchyroll streaming all the content as it aired.
