The September edition of Kodansha‘s Monthly Dessert revealed a new spinoff is brewing for Megumi Morino‘s heart-tugging romance A Condition Called Love. This fresh take sprouts in the January issue.
Like a school bell signaling the end of class, the main story concluded in the July 24 issue after its 2017 debut. Morino’s emotional rollercoaster has enchanted over 4 million readers worldwide, earning the 2021 Kodansha Manga Award for Best Shōjo title. Volume 17 hit shelves May 13.
Across the ocean, Kodansha USA Publishing brought the digital version stateside in 2020, with physical copies blossoming in January 2023. Volume 16 debuted April 8, continuing the tale of Hotaru – a girl who traded umbrella chivalry for romantic whirlwinds when she rescued heartbroken Hananoi that snowy day.
High schooler Hotaru never chased love like her peers, content with family and friendship’s warm glow. But destiny laughed when her simple kindness – sharing an umbrella with dumped classmate Hananoi – triggered a classroom confession that would rewrite her life’s script.
The story unfolded in animated glory this April 2024, with Crunchyroll delivering each episode worldwide.
