The frozen wasteland comes alive as Thursday unveiled a digital gateway for Yuhiro Tsujitsugu’s Snowball Earth manga, now thawing into a TV anime slated to crystallize on NTV in 2026. The site erupted with a super teaser visual, announcement video, and the creative architects behind this icy odyssey.

Munehisa Sakai (Zombie Land Saga, Dance Dance Danseur) helms this glacial journey at Studio KAI, with Takeshi Iwata (The IDOLM@STER Shiny Colors) as first officer. Shigeru Murakoshi (Apocalypse Hotel) scripts the frozen saga, while Toshiya Kōno (‘Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess) crafts the frostbitten character designs. TOHO animation fuels the engines.

Viz Media’s English release describes the frostbitten epic:
2025: Cosmic leviathans breach Earth’s skies. Humanity’s last gambit—the Yukio mecha piloted by Tetsuo Yabusame—shatters in the final confrontation. Eight frozen years later, Tetsuo’s escape pod thaws onto a planetary graveyard, where glaciers gnaw at civilization’s bones. What cosmic winter consumed mankind? Can Tetsuo honor Yukio’s final oath in this ice-locked purgatory?
Tsujitsugu began sculpting this frozen epic in Shogakukan’s Monthly Spirits in 2021. Volume 9 chills Japanese shelves July 30, while Viz’s English volume 6 freezes readers on August 19.
