Cinematic curtain rises October 3 with first of two soul-stirring acts
The digital stage lights up as the Girls Band Cry anime unveils its full trailer for Seishun Kyо̄sо̄kyoku (Rhapsody of Youth), the opening movement in its two-film symphony. Like a backstage pass to emotion, the trailer arrived Thursday alongside a striking key visual that captures the project’s raw energy:

This visual symphony will materialize as tangible art when the third wave of MoviTicke cards hits stores on July 18. Major retailers like Movie Walker and Animate will transform these admission tokens into collectible treasures, each one married to an acrylic standee like vinyl to its sleeve.

The original cast reassembles like a beloved band reuniting for an encore:
Creative architect Kazuo Sakai returns to conduct this cinematic orchestra, with Jukki Hanada scripting the libretto. Visual maestro nari Teshima reprises their role as character designer, while Kenji Tamai and Yūsuke Tanaka compose the emotional soundtrack. Toei Animation remains the stage for this production, now joined by new CGI virtuoso Daiki Nakazawa.

The films’ story beats arrive like consecutiv e choruses: October 3 for Seishun Kyо̄sо̄kyoku, followed by November 14’s Naa, Mirai.
Toei Animation frames the narrative in raw, poetic strokes:
Tokyo’s concrete jungle swallows a high school dropout chasing university dreams.
Betrayal leaves one girl adrift in emotional wreckage.
Another survivor scrapes by on convenience store wages after parental abandonment.
The world keeps dealing bad hands, but we keep playing.
Because the music won’t let us quit.
Because there’s still something worth screaming about.
Because we believe in a place where the melody finds you.
The original televised symphony debuted in April 2024 across 13 movements before crossing oceans digitally on August 13. Crunchyroll welcomed the series into its repertoire starting November 6.
Behind the scenes, cast members Mirei and Natsu stepped back temporarily in July for health recovery, leaving Rina, Yuri, and Syuri to keep the spotlight burning until their return.
