Originally blooming on Japanese PCs in 2004, The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky later took root across PlayStation’s ecosystem – PSP, PS3, and Vita all hosted its adventure.
XSEED Games transplanted the title westward in 2011 for PSP, sowing seeds that would eventually sprout a 2011 anime adaptation.
Meanwhile, refint/games prepares to launch the crossover battle Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga in summer 2025, colliding worlds across PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC.
NIS America recently expanded the saga westward with Trails Through Daybreak II on February 14, 2025 – a Valentine to fans across Switch, PS4, PS5, and multiple PC storefronts. This crimson chapter first lit up Japanese PS4/PS5 screens in September 2022 before jumping to Switch in July 2024.
